Kathleen was looking for a very specific purple and loved the look and feel of thermography printing. With purple and silver as her wedding colors, there was no room for white paper in these save the dates!

This past spring I worked with GoIzzy Events on an inspiration shoot challenge. We decided to create a winter-inspired table that still said “winter” without using any of the usual snowflake shapes, pine trees of pinecones, etc.

A quick peek is below, but head over to The Sweetest Occasion Blog and Elizabeth Ann Designs to see all the details!
Amazing photography by Marek at Dziekonski Photography.

Have to lead with the invitations, of course … : )

I designed the invitation with a frosty window pane in mind. So, so in love with the white wood-grained paper that brings so much texture and sets off the extra shimmery swirl-textured printed layers. This invitation would also be amazing letterpressed and can be customized in just about any color.

And the table setting! Imagine a room full of tables with flower petals falling from above to emulate snowflakes.

Part of the inspiration challenge was to include a DIY element. The frosted glass crystal table number tutorial is outlined on the The Sweetest Occasion Blog.

I just left Kristen with the place cards and table name cards for her wedding, and just couldn’t wait to post them. I met with Kristen and John for the first time a year and a half ago (referred to me from the DJs at Mike Staff Productions) and have had a great time chatting and brain-storming with them ever since. Kristen’s all-metallic pink and quartz panel invitations are accented with a monogramed gold metallic linen band that holds the enclosure cards in place behind the main panel.

The swirl design on the band wrap flows to the back of the invitation, and frames the guest mailing addresses on the envelopes.

Inserts are tucked into the band behind the main invitation panel for a cohesive package.

Response card with envelope and accommodations card – fun elegant wording really caught guests’ attention: “__ Accepts with pleasure and looking forward to dining, dancing and celebrating; __ Will regrettably miss the fun. So many guests sent comments back on the rsvp cards about how excited they were to attend. I’m sure the wording played a huge part in this!

Kristen and John enjoy visiting wineries and wine tasting and decided to name their tables after wines instead of just numbers – so fun!

Guests will be greeted with place cards serving several purposes – the cards will be held in frames (their wedding favors), directing them to their seat, and also to the photo booth.

And of course, special keepsake place cards for the newlyweds! (Last names have been changed of course).

Carrie contacted me because she LOVED Kim’s Damask Invitations. Of course Carrie’s design would be unique to her, and with so many variations on a damask pattern, it’s easy to make sure everyone’s is unique. Carrie wanted to incorporate a bit more of a floral element but not TOO much floral, and this damask is the perfect balance.

I love the narrow pocket she chose, and although smaller than other pocket fold styles, still holds A LOT of information.

A leaf from the damask artwork is pulled out as a design element on the enclosure cards so the artwork doesn’t take over the cards but still tie into the main design.

Carrie’s Extras will be finished soon, I can’t wait to show them off!
