The orchid theme will be carried onto her invitations and here are used to frame one of their engagement photos for a stunning save the date magnet.

Jen’s first idea for her invitations included bright summer colors, hot pinks, oranges, reds – and Gerber Daisys. We met to select papers, and picked out the orange, red and pink, but the design took an entirely new turn once she saw the paisely patterned paper. About 2 minutes later, a new concept was born. She phoned Joe to make sure the switch was ok – and it was a go!

The PocketFold is really put to use, holding the RSVP postcard along with accommodations, an invitation to the day-after brunch, and directions to both the wedding and brunch. 4×5 PocketFolds can hold A LOT of information!

The extras carried out the theme.

Thank-you notes were tied onto hotel welcome boxes with a ribbon…

And inside the box, a tri-fold full of information about the area and the wedding events taking place.

Aside from that, her invitation has several interesting qualities worth pointing out:

Cost distribution AND style to boot – Kristine saved costs by starting with a 4×5 panel, then decked it out to the nines with envelope liners, printed mailing addresses, and a band wrap with a double-layer seal on top. The enclosure cards sit nestled together behind the main panel, tucked into the band wrap for a tidy package when the invitation is opened.

Printed Map – I can illustrate a simple map for any invitation for a nominal design fee. Or, for NO additional cost at all, I can take a map of your choice – something you’ve hand-drawn and scanned, created on the computer, or even a Yahoo or Google map – and incorporate it into your invitation. By having fonts and style that match the rest of the package, the map card is no longer an after-thought tossed in at the last minute.

Have Fun – Kristine included photos of her dogs, which will also be guiding guests through the series of complicated turns on their way to the reception.

1. Quantity. Be sure to include some extras for keepsakes and last-minute guest list additions.

2. Format and Details. Are you in love with the pocket-folds or do you prefer a traditional panel invitation? Are you looking for a particular type of printing? Do you have a love affair with metallic, patterned, embossed or hand-made papers, or do you prefer traditional matte paper stocks? Do you know what type of embellishments you want – or would you like help figuring all of these details out?

3. Design. Do you want a traditional text-only design, or are you looking for artwork to adorn your invitation? Do you already have a design in mind? Do you already have particular artwork you want to use? Do you already have your colors picked out?

4. Additional Services. Are you interested in digital calligraphy (having the mailing addresses printed on each envelope) or custom stamps? Would you like to have them delivered fully assembled or would you rather put them together yourself?

5. Printed Accessories or ‘Extras’. Will you be needing programs, table numbers, menu cards, a seating chart or other printed items for your reception or party?

6. Your Budget, if it is a particular concern. One of the benefits of custom invitations is that there are often several ways to achieve the particular look you want.
