Accurate quotes start with an accurate page count.
There are various ways to discuss printing specs, so here is how we do it:

FIRST THING TO KNOW:
Each inside & outside cover page AND individual side of an interior page counts as 1 page, whether it’s printed or blank.

Always count the front and back of each page surface.
There will always be 4 pages used by the covers, even if they are blank.
Inside content pages must be added in sets of 4, due to how the books are constructed.
Example:
4 Cover Pages + 12 inside printed pages
= 16 Total Pages = Quote Request for 16 pages (or 4+12)

LUXE PASSPORTS have a specialty cover with a metallic foil design.

LUXE COVER MATERIAL OPTIONS include:

1.) Standard Leatherette (15pt. Navy Blue, Burgundy, Black or White)
A textured coating over card stock core that mimics a vinyl/leather texture.

2.) Slightly Thicker Leatherette (17pt. Navy Blue, Green, Black, White, Burgundy, Brown, Ivory) (Upgrade $$)
A little thicker leatherette with a more refined feel, and more color options.

3.) Specialty color card stock in matte or shimmer (Hundreds of colors available from brights to neutral. Ask for options in your color range.)

LUXE Cover Printing:
1-color metallic foil imprint is included.
Gold, Silver, Rose Gold, and Antique Bronze foils are available, as well as Red, Blue, Green, Black, White… tons of options are available, just ask!
Simple logos and text work best, no photographic printing is available on this cover style.
Luxe Inside Front Covers & Inside Back Covers:
Blank, and the same color as the outer covers.
Luxe Back Covers:
Blank, but foil imprint is available as an upgrade.

LUXE Page Counts:
Outside Front Cover (with foil design) – counts as 1 Page
Inside Front Cover (blank) – counts as 1 Page
Inside Printed Pages – Add in sets of 4 only. Count the front and back of a piece of paper as 1 page each. Each attached inside page is printed with full-color flat ink for any type of content or design you need.
Inside Back Cover (blank) – counts as 1 Page
Outside Back Cover (blank unless optional foil design is added) – counts as 1 Page

FULL-COLOR PASSPORTS start with standard, white, 120# card stock covers with 4C full-color printing. They are perfect for cover designs with detailed logos, illustrations, graphics, photo-based designs, and floods of solid colors.
Metallic foil stamping can be added to any printed background for an additional fee.

FULL-COLOR Passport Cover Material Options:
1.) Low Gloss with a subtle sheen
2.) High Gloss with a shiny finish
3.) Ultra Matte/Uncoated has a feel similar to regular copy/printer paper, but is thicker card-stock. No sheen at all.
4.) Suede Finish with a unique soft, somewhat velvety, ultra smooth fine-leather-like feel (Upgrade $)
5.) White shimmer card stock (Upgrade $)

FULL-COLOR Passport Cover Printing:
4C, Full-Color Printing on ALL cover surfaces. Use this option for detailed graphics, photos, or solid color backgrounds.
Metallic foil imprint is available in addition to OR instead of full-color printing on the front & back covers.

Inside Front Covers & Inside Back Covers:
Completely printable. Use this space for any content you wish.
Back Covers:
Printable, usually as an extension of the front cover design OR for additional content.

CLASSIC Page Counts:
Outside Front Cover (full-color design) – counts as 1 Page
Inside Front Cover (full-color design) – counts as 1 Page
Inside Printed Pages – Add in sets of 4 only. Count the front and back as 1 page each.
Inside Back Cover (full-color design) – counts as 1 Page
Outside Back Cover (full-color design) – counts as 1 Page

Want to make a very basic sample to help visualize your page content?
It won’t be the same size, but is useful for page planning.
1.) Grab a stack of paper. Cut all sheets in half to create 8.5″w x 5.5″h sheets.
2.) Stack all the sheets. Then fold the entire stack in half at the same time (parallel to the 5.5″/short side).
3.) Orient the resulting book so the fold is on your left. Separate the pages, but keep them folded.
4.) Start with one folded piece. Label the top of the outside sheet as COVER.
Open it up, and on the area directly reverse of the COVER, write INSIDE FRONT COVER.
On the area opposite of that, write INSIDE BACK COVER.
Flip the whole thing over, and label the back as BACK COVER.
Remember to note (from above) if your Passport style includes printing in these areas or not.
5.) Now insert more folded sheets inside until you have enough pages for your content ideas.
6.) Have some blank pages left? No worries. You can expand existing content by increasing the font size, adding photos, or using themed “filler” pages that look like a stampable passport page (we can help), or include pages for notes. Or add a thank you page.
7.) Have 3 blank pages left, and want to save money by condensing content? Sometimes very slightly reducing the font size or getting help from a proofreading friend to reduce wordiness can do the trick.

Remember, inside pages are added AND removed ONLY in SETS OF 4.
